Secure method of AS/400/ iSeries/ IBM i discovery

Currently the only options available to discover an AS/400/ iSeries/ IBM i are to use telnet or ftp which are both insecure. In todays very security conscious world it should be considered a necessity. Although the data discovered by device42 may not be considered sensitive, insecure connectivity to an AS/400/ iSeries/ IBM i could be disabled globally because of Business data that is present on these systems which renders discovery impossible if this is the case. The platform supports secure file transfer natively  e.g. FTP-S.
