To Agent or not to Agent? Laptops...

So we are in very early stages of a new rollout...

We have a alot of full time remote laptops/desktops in the range of 50-60% are remote most of the time.

What are some of your solutions for this?

• Scan through VPN IP ranges
• Agent and report back via VPN?
• Agent and report via a public accessible appliance/collector?

  Hello Dan,

  Based on the network environment you have the the firewall rules the three approached will work.

  1- If the IP ranges is reachable from a remote collector through VPN, this will be the easiest method as there is no need to copy the agent on each target and run.

  2- If the above is not possible, we would recommend agents based scan and report back via a public remote collector, the communication will be on port 443 between agents and the collector.
