    Brian,

We have increased the limit for both the timeouts for up to 10 hours in v5.10.0: http://blog.device42.com/2014/09/active-directory-and-ldap-user-sync-and-improved-patch-panel-layouts-with-v5-10-0/

    Thanks.

    Hi Raj,

10 hours is still pretty low value, as for people who use the tool extensively this could mean that they'll have to authenticate twice during a working day.

Would it be possible to increase the maximum value to a week? You can still leave a short timeout as a default value and every device42 administrator can decide whether to change it or not.

    Thanks,

    Irena

    All,

This setting has been changed to allow upto 1 week for the session timeout.

    Thanks,

    Hi Raj,

I can see the value being changed in the Appliance Manager, but not for the actual tool - see screenshots below (I increased the login inactivity timeout in the Appliance manager and restarted the application just in case these two are related, but this doesn't seem to have changed anything in the tool login timeout). Can this be implemented for the Device42 tool itself?

    Thanks,

    Irena

    Hi Irena,

Actually unrelated. If you manage your passwords in Device42, the password pages (list/view/edit page) have their own timeout. This setting refers to timeout for the password pages only(and overrides the global timeout only for those pages).

    Thanks,

    Raj

    Thanks Raj.

So, just to confirm - the user authentication for the Device42 page is controlled in Appliance Manager only and is now 10080 minutes, is that correct? I'll be able to confirm that in a couple of hours, I guess.

    Thanks,

    Irena
