have a dashbord for scheduled tasks
One of my concern is to supervise scheduled task.
We have multiple tasks setup in different pages (auto discovery pages for different purpose). It should be great to have one sum up page to list all schedule tasks.
The 1st goal is to have a global view :
- what is currently running (don't restart app when a task is running), can stop a task if needed
- see the status of each task in a glance
- have a wide view on global scheduling for having the most efficient one (and be sure that all daily batches run less than a day)
the 2nd goal is to supervise :
- having an alert (email) for custom recipient for each jobs to be alerted when job succeed of fail (can have some alert for success and some for faillure. if no email address listed, no email sending)

I've not tried it yet, but Rundeck software (recently integrated with D42) isn't developed to aid in this type of problems? I mean, instead of having this feature already integrated with D42, one can use Rundeck to see all things running on D42 and of course on other systems. D42 can be the source of devices and be a device running jobs at the same time :)
Device42 team, what do you think about this?

Hi Stefano,
Rundeck and D42 jobs are 2 separate things. We will be adding a central notification for D42 jobs, that is what Ryan is referring to above. And I think that is what you are after.
Rundeck is for external systems, where it can get node data from D42 in real time.
Thanks,
Raj

Hi Raj,
I see your point and I'm aware that are two separate things. I was just wondering if before implementing a central notification or one web view "to rule them all" in D42 you can be "queryable" from Rundeck to have the same type of representation from Rundeck. D42 will be an external system for Rundeck (a node) and at the same time can provide node data to Rundeck in realtime. That is why I've said that D42, from Rundeck point of view can be a server to get node data from and a node to get jobs status.
Since D42 team is developing more and more integrations, it's just an hint :)

Stefano,
I see what you are seeing. I think once we add central notification for jobs - we should be able to add an api end point as well for it. That could then possibly be used for checking the status external to D42.
Thanks.
