Upload full-size images to asset/devices
Today I've observed that any image uploaded to asset/device for front/back is resized to ~180x80 pixels.
While I understand that this can be useful for the rack visualization and for the list view, on the other hand I do not understand why there is no way to upload a full-size picture to show some details.
It would be useful to have a mini-gallery related to an asset/device (even a rack or other type of objects like buildings, rooms, etc. ).
I'm aware that I can attach any file to asset/device but *any* means all files are treated the same, ie. I cannot have a preview for anything. I see two options here:
- Show uploaded pictures as thumbnails (the simplest option, but less attractive from my point of view) in the list of attachments.
- Make a new section on device/asset screen to upload images, show thumbnails with title and even with a small description. You should retain of course full-size pictures and calculate thumbnails as you do for front/back images to realize the gallery. Cheat: when you upload a picture as attachment, D42 moves it on the gallery automagically. Picture title and description should be also searchable.
An image is worth 1000 words :)

I agree with this, its really sad that we can't keep the full size image on disk and display it when viewing the device information or pop up the full size when zooming in on a rack or exporting to SVG
