New type of custom field: "single-select and multi-select"

We have to add three new custom fields in Devices to represent some features of the device.

For example to comply with ISO27001 we have to classify devices for Protection level. For this field we have to specify if the device is protected with one or more of these systems:

Antivirus, Firewall, UPS, Rack key, Badge, Password

Today, there is no way to create a multi-select custom field, and that is my request.

Without this custom field type I'm forced to create 17 Yes/No custom fields because I have 6 options for the first custom field, 5 options for the second and 6 options for the third.

This is obviously insane! Another method would be putting a custom field of type text and adding a string like "A,B,C,D" where every letter is relative to an option "being selected": this is also horrible and difficult to filter out.
