Multi-tenancy rack view options

Multi-tenancy seems to be a great add-on feature.  It is to my understanding that you do this from an object hierarchy.  The problem we see today is if we have 1 rack, and half of the devices belong to one group and half to the other, we want to be able to break out these permissions but still allow these users to be able to see the rack. Since the hierarchy starts from top to bottom, providing access to a device, does not allow a group to see the rack unless they have permissions to that rack.

Perhaps when looking at the layout of the rack, you can simply gray out devices they do not have access to but are taking up space in that rack would be an easy way to handle this.  The main problem is we still want groups to see the rack views even though they cannot see all the devices on that rack.
