Add already existing assets/devices from rack layout view
CompletedWhile it is really useful to add a new devices/assets from layout view to a rack, it is uncomfortable to add existing (ie. already present) devices/assets from rack Edit screen or from device/asset Edit screen.
It would be very "user handy", as for new devices/assets, to add any existing device/asset to the rack in layout mode.
As with "Add new Device", "Add new asset" and "Add new PDU", you could add "Add existing Device/Asset/PDU" to behave the same way.
I'm aware that doing this will make the left pane of the screen longer but that maybe the occasion to reengineer the UX also because we now have 15 assets templates that are making the left pane very long indeed :)
This feature is also useful regarding the default choice D42 makes when dragging a non rackable device type to the rack: this avoids them to finish in the "Other Devices" category.
Feature useful also for the Storage room devices when they have to be racked.

I'm glad to see that in 9.7.1 you added this :)
Just a hint: I've tried to search for an existing device that has an hardware model associated without any U size specified. The result is that the device is selected in the search text field but does not appear as a rectangle/image to make the drag & drop action and you do not realize why! In such cases I suggest to give a warning message to the user to give him a hint to fix the problem.

Stefano,
Good point. Goal is to limit the search for only qualified devices. We will work on that.
Thanks,
