Allow advanced search operators - AND, OR, NOT - in Device filters
Technically, this could apply to table where filters are present.
I regularly run into a situation where I want to view multiple devices but the names and/or characteristics of the devices are different enough that I am unable to display them on the same page. In my case, I am trying to use the merge feature, but occasionally I just want a quick at-a-glance view without having to export everything to excel.
A quick example would be having a device named 'ABC' that I want to merge with 'XYZ', but they always show up on different pages when looking in the Device view.
The current filter options are too limited, in that I cannot select more than one element from the list. I also cannot use AND, OR, NOT in the search text field.
My first suggestion is to implement AND, OR, NOT operators in the search text field.
Or, better yet, make the Filter section in such a way that I can do a more customized search.
I have seen where other web apps will present a grouping of 4 fields: 1) drop-down list of all the fields in a table, 2) drop-down list which contains "equals, not equals, begins with, ends with", 3) a text box for user entry, and 4) drop-down list that contains "blank, AND, OR". If the user chooses AND/OR, the web page adds another line of fields. This way, the user can construct their own queries as they see fit.
If you go with the advanced Filter section option, may I suggest you include an option to hide the fields when I don't want to use them?
I hope I've explained this clearly.

I'd love to to be able to do just the same but then via API calls. IE I'd like to be able to make a query to get all systems which do not have a specific service level set, like setting not_service_leve=decommissioned to get all available systems.
