is it possible to merge some ?

It would be fine to merge some of them.

Being able to add aliases and merge just like with is available with hardware models is a necessary feature to keep OS versions clean and usable.

Aside from Operating systems, I think this would be a very helpful feature (aliases & merging) for any place that tracks models -- Part Models, for example. Without this ability, lists can very messy and difficult to look through.
