It will be great to have the feature to create your own sort of hardware components selecting the fields that you want like if you want some serial numbers or not description etc. In order to keep inventory of the spare parts, also that show reports of whats the monthly weekly or yearly consumption Also something that let you know how many parts have been swap in X server and whats the frequency in order to have an idea of how much is that specific server costing.
It will be even awesome if for example you can track the parts for example if I took a part from shelf A and Im using it that you can scan that part to a location for example you cart and then if you used into which server did you use it or if you didnt use you can scan the original location back. Also once you have use one part you can scan the bad one into an RMA location so you can keep a better track of the inventory

Great point. You can do some of it today using DataCenter > HW Components > Hardware Component.
You can add any type of component as you described above and assign parts of it to any server(s).
Reporting on this is a great idea along with tagging purchase/contract details. We would look into that further.
