Database Version

Hi

 

Can the database instance discoveries be updated to collect the database version, apologize if I'm missing it but seems a really obvious piece of info needed on the Database Instance records (the only way I can see it working at the moment is by trying to link with software and take a version from that, but it should be a lot easier to see the version of a MS SQL or Oracle instance)

  Hello Andy,

  The database version is discovered actually, but it is not displayed on the UI directly, it is stored inside a JSON format parameter. You can check it in two ways:

  • When you navigate to the application component page associated with the Database device, you can click on the three dots icon from the right-hand side then "Details"

       

  • Or you can use the Insights+ reporting engine, and search for "Database Servers", the version for each corresponding DB will be listed there, under the "Database Software Versions" column.
