Adding server roles to quickly identify File-, Print-, SQL-, WEB-servers etc.

It would be very nice if devices could be marked with one or more roles. Roles can be both standard roles that can be identified by Auto Discovery and custom defined roles.

This would make it possible to do searching and listing by Role.

So in Devices I could just select "All Devices" - "By Role" and select "WEB server" or "Storage" or ...

Even more dynamic and useful if it is also possible to create custom definitions like:

• binding the "NFS port" to the "Storage" role
• the "IIS service" and "Apache demon" to the "WEB server" role.

  I would still like to be able to somehow classify servers automatically.

  I am now using tags to identify the role (ROLE_DNS, ROLE_File, ROLE_Web, etc) which works fine, but finding and manually tagging is quite a job.
