If the option "Is monitoring enabled" is set to "Yes" on the device settings page on Device42, this means that we are collecting the server resource usage metrics.
This option is based on the Device42’s Resource Utilization features where we have the "Recource Utilization" license enabled on Device42.
Once this license is enabled, you will see a ‘monitoring’ option on the Hypervisor/*NIX/Windows Discovery settings screen, and stats are currently displayed on Linux and Windows-based platform CIs.
The "Is monitoring enabled:" attribute cannot be enabled or disabled on device level as it is controlled by internal queue which is linked with discovery jobs. So in order to have this flag set to "Yes" the option "Enable Resource Utilization Tracking for Device(s)" must be checked on the auto discovery job, and a remote collector must be used for the job, because the monitoring will be done through the remote collector.
After the discovery is done, this option will be automatically set to "yes" on the device settings page:
