What does the "Set Hostname for Web Console" option do in the appliance manager

In the Appliance Manager under Global Settings there is an option to "Set Hostname for Web Console":

This option can be configured to restrict access to the Device42 web UI to a specific FQDN. If this option is configured and the IP address or another FQDN is entered then the user will be unable to log in.
