Need to bulk add or update, use the import/export feature or API?

• In Device42, we give customers a few options to bulk add or modify data in the Main Appliance. Ex:…..if you wanted to add custom fields to multiple devices. Instead of doing it one device at a time you can use the import/export feature or API to save you time. 
• To use the import/export feature-> Navigate to Tools->Templates & Bulk Operations. Click on Import/Export (xls). 
• If starting from scratch on bulk Import, you can click on a Download Sample Excel File on any of the items you are trying to import. If you are trying to update data, click on Download Current Data on the data group you want to update and modify the document. 
• Once modifications are done, you can import and then check your results. 

The other option for bulk importing or exporting is using the API, which will require you to have a little knowledge in scripting. Device42 has a pretty thorough guide, https://docs.device42.com/api-overview/, and the ability to do test API calls on a demo environment before applying it in yours.
